Yeah, my thoughts too. We can be sure that he committed treason before he was even in office the first time, and then committed it again when he pointed an angry mob of his supporters toward the capitol to prevent a democratic process.
I would guess that it’s more that Trump would rather have the public not talking about him and the Epstein stuff, which is currently in the news, so it’s time to do something appropriately headline-grabbing as to compete with it.

That’s what I was trying to say: there doesn’t need to be any record or even reasonable suspicion that you did something. If Trump accuses you of it, then you know it’s something that he (Trump) has done.
