Amichay Eliyahu’s comments came amid growing hunger in the territory, where Israel controls the delivery of food.

Amid rising starvation in the Gaza Strip, an Israeli government minister said on Thursday that Israel had no duty to alleviate hunger in the territory and was seeking to expel its population.

You do realize Oslo was explicitly meant to create “an entity less than a state” right? These are Rabin’s own words btw. Like, it’d have been a pretty sizeable improvement over what we have now, but it was not a two-state solution. Also you’re gonna need a source for that 50+% bit.

I think it´s funny people seem to have such strong negative opinions of the Oslo accords when apparently not being overly burdened with the actual details.

Everything about Oslo was explicitly aimed at untying the knots and removing the roadblocks that began to make a path back to a two state solution and thus to peace impossible after the first Intifada. It might not have jumped directly to the final end goal, but it consisted of the essential first steps to get there.

And sure, that included Rabin using language to soften the message to hardliners. Didn´t fool them though: they understood perfectly what it meant and murdered him for it.
