I hate Microsoft and Windows, I want to choose better AND more importantly, see what all this fuss about Linux being awesomest is about

      I second Mint. It’s super easy to install (even when dual booting), has a UI that’s fairly similar to Windows so it’s not too hard to navigate, for the most part just works, and because it’s so popular there’s a huge amount of information online. I’d recommend Cinnamon for the same reason as it’s the most popular edition.
