      If you think rural Georgia is such a shithole, why in the hell would it make sense to build a datacenter there? Just keep your shit out of their shit if you hate them so damn much.

        If there’s sufficient water and land you can put a data center anywhere. If you’re going to screw over the locals somehow it’s better to do it in a place that’s relatively poor with no real power to fight back against the pollution, utility increases, and noise that follow.

        Because they put their shithole in my America and have been helping to ruin it for everybody else. Georgia can’t have it both ways where they’re a state full of backwards morons and also dignified people worthy of respect by default. They’ll have to put in the work to earn it back first.

        People in the article are upset because of the blatant pandering. Data center tech bros handed out some flag shirts on photo shoot day to score easy points, expecting Georgians to lube up for the red white and blue, but must’ve been laying it on too thick for the simpletons’ liking.

        What I’m saying is that the reason SF tech bros imagine the average Georgian as a stereotypical caricature of the southern idiot is because the average Georgian is a stereotypical caricature of the southern idiot.
