Thinking of canceling Disney+? You’re not alone—after Jimmy Kimmel’s suspension, so many people rushed to quit that the cancellation page itself started crashing.

With cancellations surging, many subscribers reported technical issues. On Reddit’s r/Fauxmoi, one post read, “The page to cancel your Hulu/Disney+ subscription keeps crashing.”

Another added, “Already cancelled my Disney subscription,” while others said they faced looping logins and stalled forms. These firsthand accounts suggest Disney’s systems struggled under the unusual traffic volume.

      Also depending on how you’re subscribed.

      • Apple: Open the Settings app on your iPhone or iPad. Tap your Apple ID name, then Subscriptions. Select Disney+ and tap Cancel Subscription.
      • Google Play: Open the Google Play Store. Tap your profile icon, then Payments & subscriptions, then Subscriptions. Tap Disney+ and Cancel subscription.
      • Roku: Press the Home button on your Roku remote. Highlight the Disney+ app and press the Star button. Select Manage subscription and click Cancel Subscription.
      • Amazon: Go to https://www.amazon.com/appstoresubscriptions. Find Disney+ and click Actions, then Cancel Subscription.

      But, absolutely call them as well and tell them why

        Also, remember to cancel Hulu as well, which is also under their umbrella.

        When I cancelled both of those the other day in direct reaction to this whole shitshow, I was mildly amused to note that Hulu did not have a free text “other” section to fill out for cancellation reasons, but the Disney site did. So of course, I was quite happy to leave a rather vile nastygram explaining that I dislike giving money to fascist enablers.

    A lot of sites suddenly start crashing when you try to get away from them. My reddit account got banned (that’s why I came to lemmy) and I am trying to delete every single one of my posts and comments on reddit using scripts, and reddit has suddenly started crashing. Interesting.

      I couldn’t get my account banned when I decided to leave Reddit; I broke every rule I can think of and only got banned from a hand full of subreddits.

      Go figure. lol

        I on the other hand really wanted to stay on Reddit. Nothing against Lemmy, it’s better in a lot of ways, but its Cricket and OCD communities just aren’t big enough.

      oh nooooo someone appears to have capped our web backend autoscaling at some weirdly low quantity for no apparent reason, wish we knew how to fix that, guess it’s just gonna be slow indefinitely 🤷‍♂️

    I cancelled. I barely used it, and just needed the smallest motivation to cancel it. Luckily, they gave me a huge reason to cancel. I tried not to pirate as an adult, but the companies are just such assholes. Capitulation to fascism is the last straw.
