Currently, I’m donating monthly to the ACLU, who as I understand successfully got Rumeysa Ozturk released, and I’m using my video editing skills to help a pro-Democratic advocacy group mostly run by older folks, who appreciate my technical know-how. Groups like those have helped to flip districts that were heavily in the red pre-November.
It’s not heavy artillery. It’s something, and largely that’s okay.
Good for you. I’m glad you found something that makes you feel like you have agency. I have no problem with people fighting the billionaires I only have a problem with self righteous assholes like the web comic author who suggest that people who are powerless to fight back are part of the problem because they don’t or can’t. It’s like the same kind of corporate gaslighting that says the working class is destroying the planet by not taking recycling to non existent facilities or driving their cars when there is absolutely no kind of public infrastructure. Assigning blame to the working class is propaganda that keeps the status quo.
