This is something I find odd. There are allot of communist groups on Lemmy and more and more Americans think they like communism probably because they don’t even know what it is. However what’s funny is there has never been and is currently NO communist countries in existence.(FULL COMMUNIST) Literally.
It is an actual imaginative concept and its just strange none of these people realize it. I don’t care if you’re communist. But just do it, like make it happen so you all can see the flaws in it and realize its wishful thinking.
I’ll tell you why communism doesn’t work. It’s missing the root word (community) you all don’t come together outside of online groups and occasional marches.
So have you noticed this?
UPDATE: Not one country named yet. Some odd reason capitalism is being argued about. Deflection? Who knows. The question has come to a conclusion the answer is communist in fact do not know that communism is not a thing in the real world. Thank you all for your statements, positive and negative. I will no longer engage in this post amongst you.
Wait, what? Capitalism is literally as old as the world’s first job.

No it’s not as old as the first job. You don’t even know what the first job was. For capitalism one of the main objectives is profit. Not everything was about profit the way it is now and days. Profit is over compassion, philanthropy, community and ultraism. Go back before the industrial revolution and you won’t see profit reigning over all of those just mentioned to the unhealthy levels it’s at, outside of examples akin to kings or conquerers who turnt into dictators that wanted “it all”.
Having a job does not mean you generate or have the goal to generate money. It’s simply a task that you do in your current position of live, for a duration to get to a goal result, or for life. Jobs exist without capitalism but capitalism doesn’t exist without jobs. This is why someone’s job can be running a nonprofit that does not care of profit for profits sake.
I’m not even going to bother to explain why capitalism today isn’t even capitalism because of monopolistic practices and the lack of competition. You can just reread what capitalism is and see how it resembles “capitalism” but doesn’t utilize it’s system. This is why the middle class is going extinct and the lower class never had businesses on average.
That’s all interesting and all, but that still doesn’t tell me what you think capitalism is.
I’ll skip the step where you ask me how it didn’t answer the question:
Your first paragraph says that people are greedier now than ever and that before the Industrial Revolution, nobody was greedy except for everyone that was.
This was news to me since all this time, I simply believed the historical records that claimed that people had been killing each other over property since the beginning of civilization.
The second paragraph disputes the definition of the word job. I concede this point. The word job means something a little different to everyone, and there’s no point in arguing semantics.
The last paragraph is nonsense. Capitalism isn’t capitalism anymore because capitalism feels like capitalism but it’s capitalism isn’t capitalism? I don’t fucking know.
So, what do you think capitalism is? Because nothing you’re saying is actually true according to the definition of capitalism.
Killing someone for property isn’t the same as putting profits over most other things. One is robbery the other is cold business practice. It doesn’t matter what I think capitalism is because the dictionary exist. I’m going off what IT IS not what I think it is

The moment someone sold something to someone else, Capitalism was born.
The government intervenes, you need permits to even sell on a business level, also capitalism is much more than just that one simple thing. Read on it if you disagree
