I’m still on 22.04
What version is your kernel? I thought Pop!_OS provided newest versions of it.
either I hallucinated, misread something, or I got a kernel update in the past two or three days, as I just checked and I’m on 6.16.3, while I think last time I checked I wasn’t. anyway, 6.16 is up-to-date enough for RX9000 cards according to the few forum posts I read. thanks for asking that!
Any update that includes the kernel should hook the module automatically.
The kernel stub stuff is here: https://support.system76.com/articles/kernelstub/
Gentoo has the most info on kernel configuration in most cases.

https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/External_GPUYou would be better off just upgrading the distro, honestly.
If not, install the mainline kernel versions of your choice. https://ubuntushell.com/install-mainline-kernel-on-ubuntu/
That will likely ironically downgrade the kernel… Pop provides an up to date kernel for all current GPUs. op just needs to look at what version they should already have
I was waiting for PoP 24 to leave beta for that so I think I’ll just update the kernel for now. thanks!
Keep in mind, there are some caveats. Mainly that headers aren’t released with the Mainline packages.
