The link proposal between the US and Russia reflects an "enduring vision", investment envoy Kirill Dmitriev has said.

Kirill Dmitriev first posted about the idea on Thursday, suggesting a “Putin-Trump” rail tunnel could connect the two countries under the Bering Strait, which separates Russia’s vast and sparsely populated Chukotka region from Alaska.

Asked about the idea during a press conference with Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelenskyy on Friday, Donald Trump called it “interesting”.

He also asked President Zelenskyy what he made of it, to which Mr Zelenskyy replied: “I’m not happy with this idea.”

This prompted laughter from the US side.

Overnight, Mr Dmitriev posted on X, saying: "We have started the feasibility study of the Russia-Alaska tunnel six months ago.

    it’s almost as if these assholes want to trigger every single apocalyptic prophecy just to see what happens.

    I once had some dirtbag teen press all the buttons in an elevator I was in before trying to dash out.

    I grabbed their bookbag and ripped it off them before they left. had all their shit in it too. laptop, wallet, metro pass.

    When I eventually reached the roof I walked over and chucked it over onto the roof of the building next-door and went about my day.

    I’d like to think that little shit never found it.

    my point is, I’m not above retribution and pettiness. I’ll get as dirty as I can to make sure whoever has wronged me gets exactly what they deserve.
