Disney movies are a great example, everyone complaining about animated sequels, but over the last 3 years or so, every original film put out by Disney has flopped. And we’re talking about movies that only need to entertain children and are all advertised more or less equally. So kids and parents will go just based on the fact that it’s a new kids movie.

The sequels are doing great at the box office and Disney plus. But the original properties are mostly ignored. I think it has a lot to do with people having more choice and less time to sort out what new things they like, watching something new is a commitment, whereas watching a sequel with characters you already know may be a safer choice.

the animations were surprisingly more entertaining than thier streaming movie slop. i fear they will ruin x-men. the x-men spinoff shows were so much better than the actual xmen movies, before disney forced the shows to be cancelled, like gifted.
