There are tools to view the voting data if you so desire. Lemvotes allows everyone to see voting data, and moderators and admins are able to see the data from within Lemmy.
Additionally, downvoting can be completely disabled at the instance level by admins. If you find them to be a distraction or an annoyance you might want to try one that has them disabled.
Nah I want the inline thing where you can see stacked profile pictures. It’s 2025. It being a tool makes it part of the thought process of snooping on people. Telegram gets this, everyone rags on them for either being Putler or being CIA, but nobody will steal their OP ass abilities

Have you approached the devs about it through GitHub or anything? If there is support from others maybe it’s something they’d consider adding. If not you should start there since you’re basically left doing it yourself or living with it otherwise.
Since the software is open source people are free to develop and change it how they see fit. If it doesn’t work how you want it to, change it.
