An FBI investigation is underway after an ICE officer fatally shot a woman in southern Minneapolis on Wednesday, in an incident characterized very differently by local and federal officials.
Renee Nicole Good, 37, was shot behind the wheel of an SUV near the intersection of 34th Street and Portland Avenue just before 10:30 a.m. CT. U.S. President Donald Trump and Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem both described the woman as an agitator who had been interfering with ICE agents on scene.
Noem, a central figure in Trump’s immigration crackdown, said Good ignored officers’ orders to get out of her vehicle and “weaponized” the SUV by deliberately trying to ram into the officer. She said the agent shot the driver three times in self-defence.
Given the fast-brewing backlash, I bet they’ll throw the gravy seal under the bus in order to relieve the pressure.
Tbh I’d be a little surprised if they did anything to appease anyone at this point.
Like honestly. No one has been stopping this administration from actual war crimes and crimes against humanity, and the FBI are right in line. I’d be willing to bet that they either stall as long as they can, or just outright announce that their investigation found no wrongdoing and he was perfectly justified and will be right back out on the street; maybe with a shiny new medal.
It’s a white, charismaric woman, a mother, with a mother that’s white and only says good things about her, last name Good. This is very different than bombing some brown dictator commies that “had it coming.” I saw how quickly a mass protest organized. Putting the two together, I think there’s a much higher chance for this to get out of control and derail their agenda. Could be wrong of course.
I mean we can all hope, but unless we’re actually out there trying to organize this shit in the first place…
