I’ll take a chocolate pudding cup and mix in some cheddar goldfish crackers. The strong flavor contrast and texture contrast makes it so fun to eat. Another option is to take cheddar potato chips and dip them into the pudding like a normal chip dip.

I was a poor kid living in Hawaii in the mid 90’s.

Wendy’s in Hawaii had a salad bar. If you ordered the “dine in” salad bar, they gave you a fairly small plate and you were allowed one trip.

If you ordered it to go, you still had the one trip restriction, but they would give you a big plastic clamshell to go container. They assumed you would put food in the bottom of the container and close it up and leave.

Not me. I would order to go, but fill both halves of the container and eat it all at one of the tables. Usually one of the halves was mostly Chocolate pudding and cheezy crackers.

I keep a vase full of uncooked spaghetti next to my desk and chomp on it when I need to think.

Cheesecake. When I wake up in the night (frequent insomnia due to a diagnosed condition), heavy food helps me get back to sleep.

Yesterday was a burger and fries as a decadent treat for dinner. I / we rarely eat so terribly, but it’s a delight when we do. My better half usually cooks, but her being tired made it an opportune time to suggest fast food.

bread, butter and fresh peas makes a great summer snack

cucumber slice with honey is great

bread, butter, cheese and sliced apples is good sometimes

black olives with vanilla ice cream is a good sweet and salty dessert.

Goldfish in applesauce. Sounds weird, but I swear I could snack religiously on that. I actually started buying gogo squeeze so that my applesauce snacking would at least include a serving of veggies in it instead. but if I ever have regular, cupped applesauce in the house… a goldfish binge is inescapable.

I grew up in a very ghetto area so sometimes I drink 211, cheap 40s, or hobo wine and it reminds me of my childhood. Bonus points if I can find the glass 40oz bottles but they’re super rare nowadays.

Yes I can absolutely afford actually good beer and I actually have a pretty good taste in beer (at least I think so)

If it’s good hot, I’ll probably wrap it up in a tortilla and then fry it on the stove. Burritos make basically any food better.

Bonus pts for wetting the tortilla first, depending on ingredients. That can help bring out its flavors and give it more complexity in terms of the cooking.

Another one is adding a few drops of ghost pepper chipotle sauce, grated parm/cheddar, and garlic powder to the ingredients. Tajin can be nice, too.

Something genuinely weird that i don’t make very often is a wendigo sandwich. It contains (in order) peanut butter, pickles, bacon, mayo. I make it vegan but I still say it’s good

Something i actually eat at night: random cheap kids cereal with walnuts, pepitas, or frozen berries
