The announcement comes as the company is facing several thousand lawsuits brought by people in the US who allege they developed Parkinson’s disease due to their exposure to Syngenta’s paraquat products.

The company did not mention the litigation in making the announcement, and did not respond to a request for comment. The company’s announcement cites “significant competition” from generic producers of paraquat and a “less than 1 percent” contribution to the company’s global sales as reasons for exiting the paraquat business.

Translation: The only reason that we have decided to stop selling poison that cripples people as it slowly kills them is because it’s no longer making us money. Please don’t look too close at our other products as we don’t care about the harm that they cause and want them to remain profitable. We are void of any morals, ethics, or conscience. Fuck people. Money is the only thing that matters.

Don’t worry, they will just change the chemical structure oh so slightly that they can say it’s different enough to bypass regulations.

See all PFOS/PFAS. Playing chemical whack a mole is legally acceptable as long as that chemical family is not fully banned.

They prob predicted it will become less profitable &/or have come up with a cheaper solution that they can sell with even higher margins.

That’s good because some people will buy absolutely anything even if it hurts themselves or especially others.
