    It’s always night in the UK in winter.

    Slight exaggeration but most of the renewable power the UK has is wind. Solar kind sucks as the UK is just so far north (but when solar is high wind tends to be low which is convient). So before I make a claim about wind power I actually looked it up. From this article it seems wind power tends to peak around 5pm which is pretty perfect for demand.

    Electricity is cheaper at night though because demand is so low.

      Probably one of those people who pretend that energy storage doesn’t exist in an effort to discredit wind and solar as “only working when it’s windy/the sun is shining” or some such nonsense.
