It’s me, another trans who is actively applying to move out of the US. If I were staying here I’d be arming myself too even though I hate everything about guns. I’ve been voting, protesting, community aid, talking with people I know, building relations with my neighbors, it’s all backsliding anyway. Not a lot of options left for me

One of my friends lives in what used to be considered a town. Currently it has a population of like 10 people 4 of which are their family and another is one of their roommates. Gonna be hard for them to repeat the exact mistakes now that we’ve blown through all the easy to access coal and oil. It might not be possible to get industrialization off the ground a second time

For mtg I made a commander deck specifically for teaching new players. Put a lot of work into making it approachable, lots of options with clear cause/effect, and a few lucky cards that can pull a win out of nowhere against better decks. It doesn’t have consistency but especially when people aren’t paying attention to the new player it can give some satisfying wins to help keep the newbie excited. People forget that you need someone to be excited or they’re not going to want to play again and you’ve just burnt a future shared interest

I’ve been setting myself up to move out of country for a few months now. So I’ve been planning since before the election but it used to be “if I make it cool if not I’ll find my path here” and now it’s more “I’m getting out of here with or without a plan”. I know I should want to stay and fight but my body is aging, I’ve been fighting for so long, my trans ass is one of the first on their kill list. My last offer to help the people around me is I’ve got the savings to keep two people alive a couple years so maybe someone I know can escape with me

Not exactly legal but it’s pretty common to ask a friend for a couple doses. If you can find a good professional though I’d advise that. You can get a diagnoses and they’ll have you try different meds to see what works well for you

My ex spouse got an app that gave alerts every time there was anything going down in our neighborhood. They went from cautious to walk around at night to “omg we live in a crime riddled hellhole with people being murdered everywhere” and stopped going outside. People now have access to so much information, often explicitly designed to make you fearful, and we suck at statistics
