If companies stop reporting quarterly, then all of the bad news is going to come all at once at the end of the of most companies fiscal year in the fall. Since it’s every industry, the entire market will surge or sink every fall. If people had insider knowledge, well that’s a yearly wealth transfer from your 401k to the 1%.

For me at least it’s that the perspective is off. When someone is learning to draw or is just a shitty artist and the perspective isn’t very good you can immediately identify it. It looks like someone drew “front” eyes on the side of the head or something like that. When AI makes an image, the perspective is off, just in a different ways. The eye doesn’t look like a “front” eye or a “side” eye or a “top” eye. It looks like all of them and none of them. It makes the entire thing unsettling.

I feel like the word “glitch” is also too humanizing. There wasn’t a programming error, the LLM picked what was statistically likely to come next. It’s working as it’s suppose to. “Glitch” implies some error.

Imagine if the AI bots learn to target and prioritize content not generated by AI (if they aren’t already). Labeling your content as organic makes it so much more appetizing for bots.

Literally their earnings are held together by user numbers (AI bots), licensing deals (AI training), and advertising (AI bot users). Reddit is going to be a case study in AI inbreeding if it survives the AI bubble burst.

I feel like this is closer to the real answer. A lot of the criticism of Tesla applies to other EVs as well. Elon tanking his credibility opened up a dialogue about how EVs in general are super inconvenient, destroy roads, and aren’t nearly as “green” as they seem. So, I have significant hearing loss. Phone calls remove most of the lower sound frequencies that I’m able to hear well. Trying to talk to an Indian woman speaking quickly on the phone is nearly impossible. I am so happy for this change. Requiring phone calls for service is an accessibility issue.

Literally every election is decided by the “undecided”. Democrats vote democrat and republicans vote republican. It rare that anyone changes party. What determines elections is if democrats can get people who wouldn’t otherwise vote to vote. Every time people turn out, democrats win. When people are uninterested they lose. As much as everyone loves to shit on Facebook, it was an incredible service. When I was in the military I was able to keep up with my old friends and their lives. When I got out I was able to simply keep in touch with my old military buddies. Now it’s just dead. I’m genuinely sad that this has happened :(
