Wow, that triggered my trauma really bad for a split second. I used to get told that all the time when I was a kid, just because I was curious and neurodivergent. Funny thing about owning a console is that when Christmas and birthday come along, non gamer family and friends would rather get you a physical object than a steam key. The desktop is a good place to put stuff that I use rarely and may forget that I have or forget the name of.

For example, the games I own on Epic that I like are on my desktop, because I’d forget I had them if I had to open Epic to see them.

With the digital realm becoming increasingly important and approaching the physical realm in terms of importance and familiarity, I now consider people who use their desktop for everything to literally be hoarders. Not OP, but for me it was realising I was dronegender. I could either be an atheist whose identity was valid but not “real” as I conceived it, or I could embrace a religion that said my identity was achievable.
