you have correctly identified the joke.

because more suitable locations for construction have already been exploited, Tibetan dams are now being erected on thick silt beds in a seismically active region where mountains are still rising, rivers still cutting into them. As a result, they are said to be structurally akin to tofu, a metaphor that was made famous during the devastating 2008 Sichuan earthquake. According to some hypotheses, that disaster, which killed at least 90,000 people, may have been triggered by the filling of a large, nearby reservoir, and Turquoise Roof argues that something similar could ensue again alongside other dam-induced geological catastrophes in Tibet.
They include anything less than fawning over CCP under “xenophobia”.

My girlfriend in college told me that her friends all agree:
You’re the best asshole we know.
Get over yourself.

The mobile gaming industry is worth $248B, annually. Just to put this in perspective.
Not necessarily. New York law is that felons are only kept from voting while incarcerated. And since FL law refers to the other States for their residents, Trump will be able to vote for himself, unless he is behind bars. I doubt he sees time in a cell, but I’d love to be wrong.
While the Sky voice and a version of ChatGPT Voice have been around for some time, the comparison to Johansson became more obvious due to OpenAI CEO Sam Altman, and many others, drawing the similarity between the new AI model and the movie “Her”.
When your CEO inadvertently helps build a copyright suit against your product… Not a good look.
Flying a flag upside down has been a sign of distress since forever. And it has been used politically for ages.
Instead we’re going to get “D- All of the above.”
In an attempt to get a more consistent experience across my machines, I recently started using Tabby (and oh-my-zsh.) Not sure if it checks all the boxes yet, but I like it.

It’s Alberta. Of fucking course it was political.
As has become a bit of a trend lately, they put the useful information in the subtitle so it it won’t get picked up by link aggregators…
Now, Microsoft Word will use the ‘merge formatting’ option by default.
Ahh, I see how it could be interpreted that way. I’ll just pretend this is asked in good faith, despite it being just an off-topic rhetorical jab at the state of the US government.
Why can’t they regulate capitalism when it comes to important shit.
The US government can do this (as opposed to your favored issues) for two reasons: 1) This is executive action by the Biden administration, not requiring Congress. 2) This is inherently uncontroversial, even popular. 81% of Americans have an unfavorable view of China. It is one of the few things Americans agree on with such strong bi-partisan support, thereby making China an easy punching-bag for campaign season.
Further, I would contest the assertion that the Biden administration isn’t also doing those other things, to the extent that is feasible, given the currently widely divided state of our government.
…This article is about the US government doing exactly that. Did you read anything other than the headline?
The US government has allegedly revoked Qualcomm’s and Intel’s licenses to sell chips to Huawei
