Ya, I don’t understand what the alternative is supposed to be. It was declining into lawlessness because police forces refused to do their jobs.

It is brutal. I’m not even 5’10" and my knees were pressed into the seat in front of me. I felt sorry for the guy across the aisle that was at least 6’.

Most keyboards have a numberpad to the right, so the left is the more ergonomic place for a mouse.

This is why I got a TKL keyboard. It took a long time for me to realize how far away I was reaching for my mouse.

It was mostly a joke/irony.

Git is already a “distributed version control system” that does exactly what I’ve described. On the other hand, relying on centralized systems such as GitHub means that the “distributed” nature of it doesn’t make it any more resilient to failure.

What we need is some sort of distributed version control system.

I’m not quite sure how it will work yet, but it would have the entire codebase and its history mirrored onto every developer’s computer. Instead of requiring a central repository, developers could share their changes directly with each other.

Just abroad? What about domestically?

I find it’s the GUI tools that are usually cryptic, especially when you want to do more than the most basic operations.

This is why electric cars are not the answer. We still need to reduce our dependency on them and replace with public transit, micromobility and walking where possible.
