no i agree it’s important to call it out. good point. you just didn’t phrase your original statement in a way that led me to that conclusion.

my instance limits media sizes
edit: i regularly take steps to try to compress an image to a size that works. but have limited time, post from mobile, and this is the shitpost community i post to for fun in my free time. sometimes it doesn’t get done, sorry.
reminder that Hamas (the antisemitic political-military organization) is not Palestine. Hamas even has an entirely different flag from the Palestinian state.
in other words, while the Confederate flag is an explicit expression of racism, the Palestinian flag is absolutely not.
in pre-civil war full-tilt slavery USA, murdering enslaved people was considered a crime, not against humanity but against the slave owner’s “property.”
so yeah pretty much
a necessary service these days. thanks.
sorry gang i tried catbox but it didn’t work. i like imgur because it’s friendly with tineye and free.
that would seem to be more accurate.
to be fair, the ol’ star spangled banner would also fit that heuristic.
i don’t think that’s the takeaway here

PC Gaming@lemmy.ca•Full backstory revealed on why WB Games axed Monolith ProductionsEnglish
5·10 months agoslight off topic but trying to contribute positively
ooh its always so interesting to come across these. writing clear and effective english is a learned skill that isn’t the same as writing “correct” english. the author seems to rely heavily on indirect and passive phrases and poor preposition use which leads to a wandering feeling:
Monolith continued work on Legacy for several years with the thought it would have enough sway due to the success it has generated in the past that it would be able to convince WB to pursue the new IP. However, that dream died in 2021 when WB Games canceled the project, which resulted in Monolith’s entire leadership, including many other developers, leaving the studio to go and form what is now Cliffhanger Games with EA.
here’s the same quote, “fixed”:
Monolith continued development of Legacy for several years, under the assumption that the IP’s past success would maintain WB’s interest in its future. That dream died with the cancellation of the project in 2021, during which Monolith’s entire leadership and many developers separated from the studio to form what is now EA’s Cliffhanger Games.
it’s possible english isn’t the author’s first language, or they simply don’t have the communications education you are used to seeing in journalism. at least you know it’s not ai though :)

This should be a condemnation letter, it rubs me the wrong way that this is titled as such a defanged “please stop.”

5·10 months agodon’t even need an hour. “herb” has multiple regional pronunciations and so can receive both treatments depending on the context.
also my original comment was just wrong i don’t even know how i got to the point of writing that. “an hour” is the standard treatment of words starting with vowel sounds—the letters themselves don’t matter.
but “h” is treated as a consonant. which it is. duh. i feel so dumb lol.
