Ok so I just opened a thread about my wall that my wood house company is putting together.

I am from germany.

I have a completly finished wall that already has insulation in it and the last part of the wall that I can see is the plywood.

I have to put 6x6 cm squared timber around my house so they can finish the electricity. It’s basically an installation level for electricity and other things. My construction dude told me it is also good because I can hang my plasterboards on the 6x6 cm and not worry about damaging the vapor barrier behind the plywood that is right before the 240 mm insulation wool.

Am I doing something completly wrong?

The inside walls do not need the 6x6cm, it’s only the outside walls. And I want to know if I can hang a cabinet on the 6x6 cm squared timber that I am installing.

Edit: I can’t tear my wall down like others said in my last thread. The wall is waaaay to thick. I can’t even hear my dog bark that is next to the door once I close.

So I just measured the thickness. The wall is without the 6x6 cm squared timber for installation about 32 cm thick.

      Thaanks for helping! I was scared though lol. Almost thought my company constructed a huge pile of dirt and that I got a huge problem now.

        Don’t be alarmed, your wall is fine, people in the other thread simply didn’t understand that you’re not in the US and assumed what you were showing in your pictures was the DIY’ed framing for an actual, load bearing wall.

        The comment mentioned you should tear down your wall was also directed at that, they assumed you had constructed a load bearing wall from levitating 2x2s and OSB board, in which you probably would want to start over,but that’s not the case. Wall’s fine.

    No. Sounds fine to me. In Canada we wouldn’t do it that way, but not because it’s wrong or anything. Different strokes for different folks.

    See if you can find a community on a more local instance. Even a UK based one will be able to give you better advice.

    I read your thread and it was pure comedy. Americans don’t realise their construction methods are the exception to the rules; they would make their houses from wet toilet roll if they could

    Same goes for plumbing and electrics, never ask questions on a US-centric community; they just started blabbering about their “codes” which are utterly irrelevant in the rest of the world

    Your wall is absolutely fine; when you put the plasterboard up you’ll still be able to mark where the uprights are to fix your cabinets
