A judge ruled Monday that independent presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr.’s name should not appear on New York’s ballot, saying that he falsely claimed a New York residence on nominating petitions despite living in California.
The scion of the famed Democratic political dynasty vowed to appeal, dismissing the ruling as partisan. If the judge’s decision is upheld, it would not only keep Kennedy off the ballot in New York but could also lead to challenges in other states where he used an address in New York City’s suburbs to gather signatures.
The two party system sucks.
Explain. What party was the judge representing when Kenedy lied on a government form?
If he lied, which probably mean he lied under oath, he should be prosecuted.
So basically you have no idea what you’re talking about.
Agreed, but that won’t change until first past the post is changed and honestly, third party candidates should stop moonshotting for president. Build up the third party in local elections first.
Libertarians do run for other offices beside President. People get all bent out of shape when you talk about third parties because they are already on team blue or team red. Both team blue and team red want to keep the monopoly going.
Without exception, people who insist on voting third party ignore the real solution. You need to organize to end FPTP. Green Party, Libertarian, etc. will never matter at any level higher than local otherwise.
This exactly. I know ranked-choice voting is still a winner-take-all approach, but it’s so obviously better that even if one believes it’s not the absolute best system possible, it’s probably the current path of least resistance to improving the system.
No one is bent out of shape about local politicians from small parties. It’s the small party voters getting bent out of shape about the presidency never magically going to people who won’t first put in the work to build out proper coalitions.
