    A report published earlier this year found that the top 100 billionaire families in the U.S. pumped a record-shattering $2.6 billion into federal elections in 2024—which amounted to one of every six dollars spent by all candidates, parties, and campaign committees in total.

    Fuck me! I knew it was bad, but 16.6% of the money spent on federal elections came just from the top 100 billionaire families – and that is another phrase that breaks my brain. That is insane! No wonder this country is so fucked.

    “But both parties are the same”, they say. “There’s no point to voting or supporting Democrats because they will never try to change the status quo.”

    The key is to organize at the local level. Get into politics and either change your state’s party from within, or failing that, challenge them from another party like the DSA, which has made strides across the US.

    good luck, americans are easily duped by the amount of zeros they have in their bank account opposed to their integrity. especiallly the more priviledged they are since birth.
