What if “boba” is code for bugs?
Boba is disgusting
boba is slightly insane but those fruity popping pearls are really good and make me feel things
Ditto, chewy lack of flavor in my drink… no thanks. Those things you are talking about I think I had, they are like thin coated jolly rancher flavored orbeez.
i hate boba. i HATE IT! I HATE IT!!
I like coconut water that bits of coconut in it. I do not like boba tea.
Texture preferences and dislikes are really weird differences between ASD peeps.
“textured drinks”
hang on lemme get some dirt real quick I wanna test something
Me but it’s spicy drinks. Fuck you gimme spice and a drink and also the fake spice sucks give me peppers or good sauce.
We go to boba tea shops several times a week. I just order them without boba. It’s just a smooth tasty drink.
Boba is code for boobs.
borrowed from Chinese (Beijing) bōbà, name for the large tapioca balls found in the tea, perhaps literally, “large breasts, large-breasted woman”
Boobas
open boba
i fucking LOVE aloe vera drinks with little chunks of it in them
Goopy chewy drinks bad
Crunchy chewy drinks good
youre lucky I value your opinion too much to downvote it because CRUNCHY DRINK???!?
For a second, I couldn’t think of anything crunchy and then I thought about the Oreos blizzard And I was like you’re goddamn right, but to be fair I don’t mind Boba either
Wait
Who is chewing their drinks and why haven’t they died from something horribly toxic
Boba
Also aloe vera.
Hot take: Boba tea is soup…
I was gonna say, what if you think of it as a stew
soups make me angry sometimes, what am i supposed to do? swallow? chew? there’s so little to chew, and yet i can’t just swallow? >:|
same goes for yogurt, brain senses thickness, tells me to chew, but there is nothing to chew??? >:|
and with boba tea, one chew is enough to pop the balls, but one chew doesn’t pop all of them, so 90% of my mouth is liquid and yet i can’t swallow until everything is popped >:|
basically the only half drink - half foods i respect are stews, because those have enough food to chew normally, and the soup part is basically like a lot of sauce
… how did my parents miss my neurodivergence i have no idea
What do you feel about using mouthwash? (Like the kind that doesn’t hurt and doesn’t have a bad flavor.) You keep it in your mouth without chewing and without swallowing
yeah but i go wshnshwshwshwsh with the liquid back and forth in my mouth so it’s fine
the part that my brain apparently has a problem with is - if for swallowing and not watery -> must chew. so when it’s mostly watery but not exactly i get both “chew” and “just drink it” signals which is >:|
how did my parents miss my neurodivergence i have no idea
90% of the time it’s willful ignorance. That or (assuming you’re in the US) not having the means to pay for treatment, so it’s easier to not get a diagnosis in the first place.
i am not in the US no, thank god for that, i think my parents just went full “everyone is like that :))))”
The tapioca…I weirdly like it. Except I choke on it. I love the tea itself. I don’t love choking on it, but I forget the tapioca is in there half the time.
the choking is the best part
the choking is the best part
You can always get the drinks without boba in it if you like
Not sure if being autistic matters in this instance. My wife will not eat grits due to texture but I do enjoy some buttery grits.
This is the Internet. We’re all self-diagnosed autistic/ADHD here. You wouldn’t get it, neurotypical
You don’t have to be autistic to have a sensory preference, but autism is known to be associated with sensory sensitivity
