All these years we’ve been told that the reason it’s necessary to let innocent children die in mass shootings is just in case the need to overthrow a tyrannical government arises. Guess they died for nothing

The right never fucking meant it. They wanted the stockpiles as a way of virtue signaling to each other and a way of signaling to out-groups (POC, liberals, uppity women, LGBTQ+) the not-so-veiled threat of that stockpile.

Also, they wanted that stockpile so that when some shitty fascist government - like this one - gives them the go-ahead to join up with death squads, that’s they already have the arsenal for it.

All that freedom and liberty mumbo-jumbo - just so much bullshit.

You know what fully ended school shootings? The pandemic lockdown. We know what causes school shootings; schools are an underfunded nightmare pressure cooker half a step away from the prison system. We know how to fix it, change the system. Since we rushed back to the system that causes the shootings as quickly as we could, I guess you could absolutely say they died for nothing and will continue to die for nothing, probably until there are no more humans left to die for nothing.

Turns out the solution was to ban schools. I’m surprised republicans aren’t using this to try to ban school altogether.

I’ve often wondered how many people planned mass shootings that they didn’t go through with because of the pandemic.

Hey, you know what? It worked. Kids stopped being shot. Isn’t that the goal? Any means necessary? It was effective. Extremely small class sizes, distributed learning, it works and people don’t die anymore.

Instead of making any positive changes the school system just said, ‘glad that’s over, get back to the old system immediately you little scamps!’ Gotta save money after all!

There is a solution, y’all don’t like it. Gun owners know there’s another solution now, one that doesn’t make them give up their investment to solve a problem they will never be involved in.

I will not be affected by whining about this problem when a proven alternative solution exists. Especially since the proven effective solution only burdens the actual people involved in the actual problem; all of us terrible parents and all of our horrible little children.

School shootings are caused by widespread access to firearms.

There’s a reason why it’s only a major trend in the US.

That’s so pithy and reductive! And it suits your goals by only burdening gun owners and nobody else! And is false and wrong besides as whether you like it or not canada and europe have both firearms and better schools.
