    It’s Yerevan, the capital of Armenia. In Russian those jokes were “Armenian radio is asked”

        Quite interesting how regional variations have the same joke structure but has a different name for a radio station

          Eriwan is the German name for Yerevan, or the old German spelling, I think nowadays it’s Jerewan.

            Yeah, no, that’s normal. I mean that it’s “Armenian radio” in Russia but “radio Eriwan” in German. Floating translation and all that
