WASHINGTON (AP) — Utah Gov. Spencer Cox said Sunday that investigators are not ready to discuss the motive behind the assassination of conservative activist Charlie Kirk. But he said the suspect had left-leaning political beliefs, disliked the conservative influencer and is being uncooperative in custody.

Cox said Tyler Robinson, 22, is “not cooperating” and that friends paint a picture of someone radicalized in the dark corners of the internet. “Clearly there was a lot of gaming going on,” Cox said on NBC. “Friends have confirmed that there was kind of that deep, dark internet, the Reddit culture, and these other dark places of the internet where this person was going deep.”

A Republican who has called on all partisans to tone down their rhetoric following the attack, the governor added: “I really don’t have a dog in this fight. If this was a radicalized MAGA person, I’d be saying that as well.”

The governor said the suspect’s partner was transgender, which some politicians have pointed to as a sign Robinson was targeting Kirk for his anti-trans views. But authorities have not said whether it is relevant as they investigate Robinson’s motive.

Obviously I only know what I’ve been reading in the news, but this sounds like a lot of lies? Can anyone who has done a deeper dive confirm or refute?

Every claim they make that the shooter was left-leaning has been found to be an outright lie.

Influenced towards the left in college? He spent one semester during the 2021 lockdowns taking online courses.

Old friend who said the shooter leaned left? Retracted the same day after realizing he actually didn’t know if he was thinking of the same person.

And now this crap of the roommate being trans? The roommate had a tiktok chat where he asked an AI to generate an anime character from his photo and it generated a female character. The roommate then clarified he was wearing a “sloth” hoodie because he was hoping the AI would generate a sloth themed character.

This “evidence” just goes to show how desperate the right is to make people believe the left is declaring war on them. As usual, the right wants to play the victim in something they’ve done to themselves. And lets not forget the shooter was an active groyper – that simply cannot coexist with someone who is left-leaning.

Honestly it’s just too muddy with details to even make an educated guess either way. Perhaps the kid himself doesn’t even know.

What I’ve found is that his family we republicans maybe even Maga. Mormon church goers. The kid himself hasn’t voted in the last few elections so seems he wasn’t party affiliated.

Now he did kill a right winger and my first thought was oh man this isn’t good for us if someone in the left.

Seems the kid was terminally online and into obscure meme culture. My theory is either a different kind of right winger that didn’t like Kirk or someone who was in the middle and just saw both sides as divisive. Or that he rebelled against his parents and went more left recently. So basically I’ve no clue and anybody that claims to know is not being truthful right now and we should wait for more evidence or for the kid himself to speak up. Otherwise we are I just as bad as those on the other side.

Sounds like it’s a lot of say so from people around him, according to officials, but at the same time they show none of their work.

        Which is an outright fabrication.

Based on using an anime filter once on, I believe, a single Snapchat pic.

        Tyler Robinson = groyper.

The original narrative they ran off with before any evidence was available was wrong of course so now they’re just going to make it up anyway. Probably not hard to do when their drones are all Christian morons who believe in a fictional book verbatim

says shooter is on the left

governors evidence is the anti fascist rhetoric on the bullets

Explain to me now like I’m five. The governor is now admitting Republicans are fascist because the bullets have anti fascist rhetoric.

Wait, I was told the left only had weak, soft men that can’t hold a gun. So now this guy is the poster child of what the left wants? I’m losing track of the mental gymnastics again

dark corners of the internet. “Clearly there was a lot of gaming going on,”
deep, dark internet, the Reddit culture,

    Well this part seems trustworthy.
