    Most countries are refusing to accept us for asylum, because they don’t want to piss off the U.S. idk if there’s been a single person who’s managed an asylum claim.

    If you do know of a civilized country/school that wants a physics/calculus teacher, and would be willing to pay for relocation and help with the visa, do tell.

      I know it sounds kind of ridiculous, but have you thought about trying to learn a little French? Seems like that helps a lot if you’re trying to emigrate to Canada.

        I can read French. Read Proust even. Writing and speaking a little harder, but if immersed I have enough of the vocabulary I’d be okay.

        But I think the deciding line is that claiming “refugee” status explicitly isn’t going to work. I think Canada also expects masters degrees for teaching - I was two hours away from mine but realistically can’t finish.
