Mobile phone Debian based
I am so irritated by my iPhone lately that I want to love this and adopt it, but…the specs are awful, and it’s made of plastic. Ugghh. I’m so conflicted
For context I did up a comparison of my iPhone to the FLX1s
iPhone 16 Pro vs FLX1S
Spec iPhone 16 Pro FLX1S Display Size 6.3″ Super Retina XDR OLED 6.7″ IPS LCD Resolution 2622 × 1206 (460 ppi) 1600 × 720 Refresh Rate 120Hz ProMotion 90Hz Glass / Front Protection Ceramic Shield Dragontrail Glass Always‑On Display Yes No Dynamic Island Yes No Processor / Chip Apple A18 Pro MediaTek Dimensity 900 CPU 6‑core (2 performance + 4 efficiency) 2× Cortex‑A78 @ 2.4 GHz + 6× A55 @ 2.0 GHz GPU 6‑core Apple GPU Mali‑G68 MC4 RAM 8 GB LPDDR5X 8 GB LPDDR4x Storage 128 GB ‑ 1 TB NVMe 128 GB UFS SD Card Support No Yes (microSD up to 1 TB) Rear Cameras 48MP Main + Ultra Wide + Telephoto 20MP Main + 2MP Macro Front Camera 12MP TrueDepth 13MP Video Recording Up to 4K @ 120fps (Dolby Vision, ProRes) Likely up to 1080p Battery ~3582 mAh (not officially disclosed) 5,000 mAh Li‑Po Charging & USB USB‑C (USB 3), MagSafe & Qi2 USB‑C (USB 2.0), Wired only Wireless Charging Yes No 5G Support Yes (mmWave + Sub‑6) Yes WiFi WiFi 7 WiFi 6 Bluetooth 5.3 5.2 SIM / eSIM Dual eSIM only Dual SIM Biometric Security Face ID (TrueDepth) Side‑mounted fingerprint Materials / Frame Titanium frame, Ceramic Shield front Polycarbonate frame, glass back Water / Splash Resistance IP68 (6m up to 30 min) Splash‑resistant Weight 199 g 201 g Price From US$999 US$550 Why is dynamic island a feature? Seems like a good thing that something doesn’t have that nonsense, since the whole thing is a workaround for having a hole in your screen.
I wasn’t even sure what that was, honestly. Is that the oval space around the front camera?
Yeah exactly. The gimmick created around the fact that there’s a hole in the screen where the front-facing camera is, to mask the glaring hole like it’s a feature instead of a drawback.
It’s not an iPhone competitor. What’s the point in completing 2 devices which such different prices. The iPhone is 2x the price of this thing.
you have just proven that specifications wise it’s a viable phone lol
I never said it wasn’t?
the specs are awful,
well the screen is weird, and why is this USB 2 (really, what’s behind this? the fairphone 6 got a downgrade to usb 2 too), but that’s it. oh and the plastic but I guess it depends on what kind, it can be ok
Same feeling thanks for the table comparison
I would pay double for better specs. Like, clearly, because I did. This Liquid Glass nonsense feels like a gimmick from the 00’s. Steve Jobs must be rolling over in his grave. He’s probably been rolling over since all the stock buybacks started.
Same.

6.7" with 1600x720 is crazy in 2025.
my phone that came out in 2020 has better specs than this one and is so much cheaper.
It sounds great but I have no idea what the resolution on my phone is right now. After 640x480 my brain stopped comprehension
phones are at least full-HD, so 1920x1080. computer displays too. It’s even more of a weird choice for that very large size, I imagine you can clearly see and count the pixels
Can’t even rent ultra porn 😒
Crazy good or crazy bad?
Crazy terribly bad
Never heard of, but sounds great. I was also lucky to read “based in HK” as I feared it’d be us-based 😊
But…what about the camera? Is it worth anything?

Not high spec but the concept is in the right direction
Oh dang…that really isn’t a good selling point. Would’ve bought the older one for more instead a downgrade for the same. Why the heck… More profit? My enthusiasm is slightly dampened. Not much competition anyway 😞
