It’s the wrong way to reach the right conclusion.

But yeah if you take care of the needs of the people, like housing, social medicine and so forth they will be more productive, will create more children and -as unintended side effect- be happier.

Squeezing people for every penny will make them more prone to revolt, so it’s basic reasoning: of you’re rich and want to remain that way, take care of the people doing the work!

Yeah it’s basically like “what do you think of the random African kid that mined cobalt for your phone ?” We’re their African kid, they don’t think about us, they don’t consider us, they couldn’t care less about us. We’re barely ants to these people.

They had to begrudgingly push out the New Deal because they knew that a violent socialist revolution where the owners get strung up from their own chandeliers was the probable alternative.

Now they probably think modern security and propaganda will prevent all that, or they’re just ignorant, shortsighted, and greedy, and they haven’t really considered the consequences.

It’s both, but they aren’t wrong about the first part.

But that’s not the goal of the health care system, at least in the US. Pharmaceuticals, hospitals, insurance companies, they are all part of a larger capitalist system that prioritizes profit above all else. It’s a conflict of interest, with the owners of the business on one side and the customers on the other. One guess which of those two gets to make the decisions on how the business runs. So, no, it’s not designed to keep you healthy, it’s designed to make a profit. And if the largest profit comes from making us healthy, then good for us. But either way we don’t get a say.

Keep workers healthy so they can be worked harder and make bosses more money. This is the point of forcing health upon you. This is why cigarettes, junkfood, drugs and video games are to be banned.

Wasn’t there mandatory exercise in view of state owned Cameras in 1984? Mandatory star jumps for Christ and Capitalism.

I exist to fuck my woman, play with my dog, ride my motorbike and indulge in all the food and drink I desire

Work is merely something that I am forced to do to facilitate that

Even when I saw the show and quickly decided he was more and more not using scientific rigur in his health things I still felt he was a nice guy. Boy was I ever wrong.
