The idea was proposed by two Democrats, so you know it has zero chance in this administration. We couldn’t even get our student loans forgiven.

        I agree with you wholeheartedly. My criticism is against the anti-UBI people making oversimplified theoretical arguments as if it’s never been tested.

          Word, yeah no I mean I genuinely think we should do it. It would cost about that figure though - and we’d have to either print money or tax the shit out of the rich and corporations. But since we added 2 trillion to the deficit this year already it’s my genuine opinion: why the hell not? A rising tide lifts all boats. It would have massive unstudied effects at a systemic level but what’s the worst that could happen? Social unrest? Already have it. Collapsing industrial supply chains? Check. Massive shifts in the economy? Already happening.
