If you can’t get a job in the first couple months out of prison, that’s often a parole violation and you’re going back. So you take a shit job for minimum wage that isn’t enough to live off, and still need to resort to crime to make ends meet. Nothing about the system makes productive citizens, because that’s not what makes the system money. Unfortunately both parties think privatization is the path forward for most of the government

Doesn’t even have to be life.
