Instead of these public protests where government can take an opportunity to just go after people in a very public display of power … the country should just employ a general strike in as many places and areas as possible.

The government and the corporations won’t care about how many protests you hold … it even works to their benefit because it allows them an excuse to escalate violent reaction to everything.

Hit them where it hurts them the most … money, economics and finance. If you shut down the system in as many places as possible to force them to lose money, it will be the only way that they’ll ever listen.

Otherwise, hold as many protests as you want and they’ll beat you into submission and it gives them an easy excuse for them to do so.

We never got the chance to have kids but all my family and friends have a bunch. All I see is how everyone is struggling to get by. The only way this current generation can survive is if their parents help them out with everything … housing, food, employment, education, health, child care. If you don’t have parents who are able or capable, you’re not going to make it.

In the 80s and 90s it was possible to get by on your own and make a bit of a living if you worked hard enough. It’s not possible any more and I have no idea how any one under the age of 20 can survive the future without wealthy parents. And the scary part is that those wealthy parents are dying off … in the next 20/30 years, those wealthy parents are expecting to have their kids look after them in old age. Those kids will be debt looking after themselves in 20/30 years and either won’t have the energy or money to look after their parents.

I’m screwed as far as I can see … we don’t have any dependants so by the time I get old and feeble, I’m going to be pushed into a corner of some dumpy old age home and left to die in my own dirty diaper.

My favourite scenario like that is with King Charles … he sat around all his life waiting for his mom to kick the bucket but she hung on for decades … now King Charles’ body is basically shutting down and he now gets to put the crown on while feeling miserable

Then when you least expect, the underlying superstructure decides to give out because fuck you and now you have severe back pain from your spine that no amount of movement, exercise or pain killer can relief except for drugs that completely shut down your sense of self.

I’ve never had this kind of back pain before but I had a construction friend of mine who fell and hurt his back. It didn’t kill him but it left him with a messed up spine for years … to the point of debilitating pain … that led him to taking over the counter drugs … that led him to taking illegal drugs … to the point of overdosing on drugs.

Isaac Newton put it best:

It’s completely stupid, short sighted and ignorant of us to think that we know everything there is know about the universe and natural world. There is still so much more to learn about and understand and probably far more than we can even comprehend.

But we also have to regulate how much we know and don’t know and how we can understand or not understand … because as Richard Feynman put it …

“Keep an open mind … but not so open that your brain falls out”
