this happens to me all the time, I’ll fall asleep at like 2am, wake up at 6, unable to fall back asleep and then I accidentally sleep away the entire day from like noon to 7pm. I’ve tried everything even just staying up for days to reset the cycle and nothing works.

      Easily solved:

Make a PLAN to sleep from noon to seven. Prepare something for a ready dinner, put on jammies, (pee first) get in bed, set the alarm. This is your gift to you. You won’t be disoriented because you planned it. Get up, have dinner, enjoy your evening and go back to bed at your usual time.

It does get harder as you grow older. That’s why I try to avoid sleeping late now because no matter what I do, I still wake up at the same time every morning.

Mine is 5 months. I was really hoping that by 2 it would get a little easier…

The killer for me is that she’ll get me up for 5 mins in the night, but it’ll take me an hour to get back to sleep each time.

Every kid is different, so maybe you’ll get lucky by that age. Definitely invest the time to do sleep training, which should be around the corner for you guys. We’ve been dealing with night terrors lately, so a lot of sudden wake ups in the middle of the night and confusion/freaking out. Takes a bit longer to get her back down after that type of episode.
