US Muslim leaders who supported Republican Donald Trump to protest against the Biden administration’s support for Israel’s war on Gaza and attacks on Lebanon have been deeply disappointed by his cabinet picks, they tell Reuters.

“Trump won because of us and we’re not happy with his Secretary of State pick and others,” says Rabiul Chowdhury, a Philadelphia investor who chaired the Abandon Harris campaign in Pennsylvania and co-founded Muslims for Trump. Muslim support for Trump helped him win Michigan and may have factored into other swing state wins, strategists believe.

      Stop. Just stop.

It’s a post-truth world. Just…give up. We’re all yelling into the void. These people are being force-fed “facts” consisting of cherry picked data and sound bites from every angle imaginable. It’s their news. It’s their friends. It’s their family, and their neighbors. Their community leaders, and their social leaders, and their religious leaders. It’s in their face, constantly, everywhere they go.

You can’t compete with that. That’s brainwashing on a societal level.

You can’t both be right, and be victorious, in that environment. Simply because for the same amount of effort you put out expelling one falsehood, they can be exposed to a thousand more.

I give up. I have no more faith in humanity. People are proudly digging their heads into the sand to avoid hard truths and then act shocked when “I told you so”. Fuck them, and fuck me for having to go down with them. Fucking children. Fucking ostrich children fucks. Pitiful. Repugnant. Deplorable.

You’re blaming humanity for being the way that it simply is. The lesson is that people don’t have the time or attention to fact check, and frankly I think we should have known that. We got complacent. So, now those of us who get it have to step in and make better competing systems.

If facts are going to win, it seems they need to win stealthily, really like they always have. Science and engineering took over the world with probably less than 1% of people really having any idea how anything actually works. Objective morality in terms of universal human rights and behavioral science can be integrated into a better regulated social media, for example. It just has to be more appealing somehow and easier to access. It also has to be sexy and come with some status, and other benefits.

I have no idea what that looks like, but thst is the mission progressives now must contend with. We have to win back people’s attention and convince them ours is the better way for them.

At this point if I were God I’d be starting the rapture right now, because clearly humanity is too dumb to live and too deranged to get it over with quick and painlessly. Every American who voted Kamela would be at the top of the “Abandon Earth, we’re all going to Heaven!” queue for the USA region, because obviously that was the last couple million people living in the Modern Day Burning Rome who gave a shit.

Behind door #1: Isn’t as one-sided as you regarding a war in another country that involves your religion.
Behind door #2: Tried to enact laws that openly discriminate against your religion just a few years ago. And is also totally one-sided against you regarding that same war.

    It’s a tough choice.

They’re way more one-sided about the “war” (genocide) than I imagine the vast majority of Muslim and pro-Palestinian voters are, just in the wrong direction. What part of unconditionally supplying weapons to a country that is indiscriminately slaughtering civilians is “not one sided,” oh “rational_lib?”

We’re gonna see a lot more “Experts baffled Trump did x thing” and the word “unprecedented” show up in headlines again for at least the next four years. Sleep in the bed you made, fuckwads.

Now that is just plain stupid. One can make a moral argument for not wanting to vote for genocide, since the situation is similar, but not the same(!), as the famous Trolley Problem. But actively voting for the other pro-genocide option because you believed him to be a peace candidate? … This is something that needs honest analysis and reflection. Both by these voters as well as by the Democratic Party. How the hell could Trump with his abysmal record be perceived as the peace candidate by so many? I do expect though, that all the involved parties will learn the wrong lessons from this.

With all the blame, shaming and hate towards Muslim, Arab, African and Latino Americans we should also not forget: The only ethnic demographic from which Trump got a majority is: White voters.

Stupid people wanted to claim that Harris was “the same as” Trump. That’s patently false. Someone else said it best. Most of these people are in their own echo chambers and trying to get them to actually behave and vote in their own best interest is becoming nearly futile these days. It’s too easy for people to put themselves into those echo chambers.

If any Muslim thought he gave a shit after his first run I’ve got a fuck ton of bridges to sell you.

Taxes and finances would be the only reason I can see voting for Trump, and when you look at his plans those are also stupid reasons to vote for him.

So basically to any of his voters except the fabulously rich ones… put a quarter in your ass because you played yourself.

Muslims: We voted for Trump because Harris supports Israel! He’s not hurting the right people!!!

Trump: Oh, yes. Yes we are. Now get on the fucking plane. The in-flight meal is pork chops.
