With some prominent Democrats and liberal pundits arguing for the party to try to win Elon Musk back to its side, you have to ask: Is American politics simply a matter of who can best kiss the ass of narcissistic reactionary billionaires?

The fucking world is burning and I partially blame the left for ineffective and incompetent strategies and ideals. In my life, the left has a decent hold on things. Every year things improved bit by bit. But then the Internet came and it became clearer and clearer things changed. Instead of adsorption adapting the left just lost and continued to lose and never once has been critical of why they have been losing. It’s always how others are just dumb or rich.

So you want to double down on neoliberalism, which is mainly the reason why Dems keep losing? You’re as much as a genius as Musk.

Lol they’re not losing because of neoliberalism. They’re losing because the left is no longer effective as a group and Democrats are closer to Republicans but that’s only because they’re allowed to be by the people. Which goes back to the left as people are just ineffective at what they try to accomplish.

You seem to be mistaking the Democrats for “the left” when they are in fact a party of right-wing moderates.

I’d advise looking up Douglas McCarthy for some historical perspective on why there is no “left wing” in American politics.

No I’m not. You people are like lemmings. One of you says a thing and then that’s like your go to retort. Need like a David Attenborough for the digital age that can see these copy paste retorts in the wild and categorize them all.

I’m well aware they’re not the left. But I’m a political climate where there’s Republicans and Democrats you don’t have many options.

If someone tries to you into a false dichotomy, the correct move is to call them out.

If you want to comply with a political party that you yourself said “sucks”, that’s your perogative. I’ll be over here with everyone else whom the Democrats have failed to represent.

Well maybe that is the reason both political parties have moved further and further to the right

That’s what a lot of you keep telling yourselves to self soothe all the failures

There’s always excuses. But the fact is the left lost the plot a long time ago.

Hey, here is another example. The left can’t ever set it self up for success. Chase all the money and power away. Then wonder why there’s been a steady decline.

Your logic doesn’t explain why that trend has persisted since these two parties were founded. Much easier just to wave the whole issue away by blaming the people who aren’t represented by the two-party system, right? They should change their politics to match the party and not the other way around, right?
