Bongino, the deputy director of the FBI, “is out of control furious,” one source told NBC News. Another said he did not report to work on Friday.

Deputy FBI Director Dan Bongino is considering leaving his job after a heated confrontation with Attorney General Pam Bondi over his frustration with how the Justice Department has handled the Jeffrey Epstein files, according to a person who has spoken with Bongino and a source familiar with the interactions that Bongino and FBI Director Kash Patel have had with Bondi.

“Bongino is out of control furious,” the person who has spoken with the deputy FBI director said. “This destroyed his career. He’s threatening to quit and torch Pam unless she’s fired.”

Bongino did not report to work Friday amid speculation about his whereabouts, said a source familiar with the perspectives of DOJ leaders who also believes that Bongino is considering leaving.

Nothing would be funnier than Bongino went full hard conspiracy theorist on Epstein; completely thinking Nazi Blondi is holding back information. Let them all infight on this.

The more they are spending time infighting, the better it’s for all of us.

This administration has the moral integrity and intelligence of the average reality TV series. Just a bunch of intellectually stunted teenagers.

“You guys! I had a whole true crime podcast I was gonna do, we already picked out theme music and I hired a photographer to take pictures of me looking grim for the show logo, and you’re ruining everything!” - Bongino (actually)

It wouldn’t surprise me in the least if the original files that the government had are destroyed by now.
Someone got a call or was made an offer and set fire to half of it, leaving only some loosely incriminating documents and notes pointing only to epstein and maxwell. Gone are the client list, his black book, list of witness-fingered perpetrators…

An index of what the file should contain can be falsified, and everyone else now claiming there was an actual client list now has a believability issue.

Ofcourse there will still be 2-3 full dossiers floating around out there but they are made by/for those wielding power behind the curtains.

On the other hand, perhaps I am wrong and the whole thing still exists in the government’s hands and they “decided” it is better not to release the whole thing as it is right now to protect the perpetrators.

One thing is for sure, the interview with those two fbi fellows showed clear shame and guilt plastered on their faces, and Trump seems to scramble for topics to divert the public attention away…

Oh, it was all computer data. Originals, copies, it all has the same information in it. Chain of custody would matter in a trial, but not to the general public. And you think nobody kept copies as CYA material? Nobody? Fat chance. We know the TLAs are full of power hungry career creeps. They know how to keep data safe for future use.

I almost feel like reading the article to find out which of the two assholes here might be in the right but I’m finding it hard to care enough - they’re all so terrible.

I fully agree, though i think a positive takeaway is that infighting is happening. Here’s a little snip from the article that sounds promising if Bongino is truly incensed. Pam Bondi is the '“Pam” the quote is referring to:

“Bongino is out of control furious,” the person who has spoken with the deputy FBI director said. “This destroyed his career. He’s threatening to quit and torch Pam unless she’s fired.”

If he starts talking about Epstein, how long before we find him hanging over his bathtub? “Suicide.”
