    1. it was a sniper. It’s on video. NSFW

    2. Cash Patel, the incompetatnt FBI director, announced multiple times they had apprehended the shooter. One of the arrests was a random with a bb-gun.

    3. Real shooter turned themselves in. Or at least their maga parents did.

    4. Shooter wasn’t trans, leftist, or politically motivated. He was part of a nihilistic online group that tldr wants to watch the world burn.

jfc. tyler robinson is alleged to be the shooter. the fbi is mishandling the public presentation of allegations and supposed evidence to produce a narrative effectively biasing the entire public against robinson, mistrialing before he even gets a court date.

Very true. Lots of people jumping to lots of convenient conclusions at the expense of nuance on this one.

The thing with communicating in memes is that they reduce actual ideas so deeply that the same one meme can start in a space on one end of the political spectrum and, by way of obscured context, later be picked up by the complete opposite end of the spectrum.

There is evidence that he leaned right, and there is evidence that he leaned left. There’re bits and pieces that imply he wasn’t really fully aligned with either, as well. Without the proper context to weigh these things with, it is basically impossible to tell what his true motivations were. For now, at least. As more information comes to light, it will become easier to tell what this was all about, as is generally how things work.

So, anyone saying they know for certain what he stood for before definitive evidence surfaces is either lying through their teeth or has simply been misinformed. Remember to take it all with salt, people. Jumping to conclusions won’t help a thing.

This is why outsiders see the US politics as two cults. They’re very very eager to frame any “bad guy” as the opposing team. They’ll try to shoehorn it everywhere to make it stick. Conflicting evidence be damned.

While I agree we don’t know everything yet, it’s kind of infuriating to have one side -the side who has been responsible for what? 80% of political violence in the past decade,- immediately start calling for violence and retribution, while the other side says “you know, maybe the side spewing hateful rhetoric non-stop is partly responsible…”

Re point 3 - the version I read went like this:

      • Robinson’s dad saw the pics and thought he recognised his son
      • He asked the son about it and eventually he confessed to the dad
      • The dad then told a family friend
      • The family friend told the police, possibly at the Dad’s request

To add the have a bad habit of juat rounding up anyone and saying they have an arrest before they are unable to get a grand jury to indict and having to quietly reclassify to a misdemeanor to save face. Just look what they are doing in DC.

Evidence he was part of a group that wanted to watch the world burn? You mean the discord channel? Seems to be a largely apolitical gaming group.

#4 definitely sounds political. Sounds like it would align with Peter Thiel’s ideology perfectly and he’s running the GOP at the moment with all the other oligarchs.

From the outside looking in, totally. The fundamental difference is the “after” phase.

I’m not familiar with Thiel’s idealology but I’m certain that if he’s advocating some sort of societal collapse, it’s a means to build a different society that replaces the current one.

Groyper/blackpill is more nihilistic. They have no plans beyond accelerating societal demise for their twisted amusement.

Thiel would 100% agree with and help blackpilleds because their goal would accelerate his own goal even if they don’t have the same ideology.

Exactly. Thiel has a goal beyond destroying the status quo. Blackpilled nihilists just enjoy the feeling of power and relevance they get from accelerating societal decline.

Or at least their maga parents did.

I’ve heard it was ironically the trans roommate who turned him in. Is this not true anymore?
