How did you get the marshmallow on the stick if the stick has branches on the end?

Yeah seriously, isn’t that how you’re supposed to roast a marshmallow? Dip it in the flame and then blow it out once it’s cooked to your liking. I don’t understand why the bird is upset. It’s not a proper roasted marshmallow if it doesn’t catch on fire.

You can argue about slow-toasted or torched.

but true s’more aficionados know, you start with slow-toast to get the center nice and gooey, and then you torch it.

Marshmallows are like ogres, you’ve got to torch and eat the layers bit by bit before you slurp the gooey center.

When I was a kid we’d roast marshmallows over the stove coils. It just occurred to me that’s probably an odd thing for a family to do.

I don’t find this odd at all! Just difficult to clean up if it drips on the coil.

Similarly, I have made a decent number of s’mores in the microwave with marshmallow fluff.

IMO You want to let the fire burn down to coals or at least smaller flames. It slows the rate of heating a bit so you can catch it before it lights, and it means you don’t have the flames moving and changing how close your mellow is to the heat source.

You’re killing me, Smalls! First you take the graham, you stick the chocolate on the graham. Then you roast the 'mallow. When the 'mallows flaming, you stick it on the chocolate. Then cover with the other end. Then you scarf.

Nah man you gotta toast it low and slow until its all goo inside but carmelized on the outside. You dont even need chocolate or graham cracker at that point

Comic Strips is a community for those who love comic stories.

The rules are simple:

  • The post can be a single image, an image gallery, or a link to a specific comic hosted on another site (the author’s website, for instance).
  • The comic must be a complete story.
  • If it is an external link, it must be to a specific story, not to the root of the site.
  • You may post comics from others or your own.
  • If you are posting a comic of your own, a maximum of one per week is allowed (I know, your comics are great, but this rule helps avoid spam).
  • The comic can be in any language, but if it’s not in English, OP must include an English translation in the post’s ‘body’ field (note: you don’t need to select a specific language when posting a comic).
  • Politeness.
  • AI-generated comics aren’t allowed.
  • Adult content is not allowed. This community aims to be fun for people of all ages.
