The Israeli military has intercepted a nine-boat flotilla in the Mediterranean Sea trying to break Israel’s naval blockade of Gaza and detained scores of activists on board.
They sent ships to provide assistance or rescue if necessary, not to actually protect them from violence or abduction. Basically, they only promised to help someone if their ship sinks and the Italians only did that much to calm striking workers. All optics, no substance.
