Where was he born? What is his name? Who is his mother? Who is his father?

“I told them, they are dead,” Cruz said. The agents said they needed the information anyway so they could look him up in their databases. Eventually, the agents verified that he is, in fact, legally in the country. And they let him go.

But not before writing him a $130 ticket for not having his papers. Cruz’s friend, who is homeless, did not have legal status and was taken away by the feds.

It makes me sick to think about how these people who slip through and talk to the press are just the tip of the iceberg. How many people have just disappeared without a trace? Are they in concentration camps, labor camps, death camps? I don’t know if we’ll ever have a complete picture of what’s happening, but what we already know is heartbreaking. Fuck this.

I think it’s pretty clear that many in power don’t believe the constitution applies to them. That’s not doomerism, because my answer isn’t “therefore we must give up.”

Oh cool, guess we abandon law then.

It is doomerism. It’s non-sequitur bullshit.

We shouldn’t, they have. What are you on about my boy.

Most of what the administration is doing is completely illegal on many levels.

This broke the fourth amendment. Clearly. What do you think stating that Americans have the fourth amendment does?

Ok, sure, the fourth amendment makes this illegal. So what? They have the supreme court many of the lower courts and full immunity from consequences. The law currently does not matter to them.

It’s not doomerism to point out reality. They are ignoring the law. They have abandoned it. It’s meaningless to them.

What point are you trying to make here my friend? That we should just AIT back, chuckle to ourselves, and say “ha those guys will look pretty silly when they learn these are crimes” as they ignore the law?

I’m sorry man, you’re a fucking idiot. Nobody here said we should abandon the law. We’re pointing out that the trump administration has. Completely.

Here’s some anti doomerism for you.

We’ve been through this before and surviged. We will again. Things will get better. We need to work for that reality though. The law is meaningless unless enforced

When you were young in the USA, how many times did they hammer home the message “America is the land of the free. You will never be asked to show your papers here. Thats the difference between us and them.” ? Clearly not the “greatness” the GOP has in mind.
